2020 was an excellent vintage albeit with very low crops. The growing season was consistent and warm, with low disease pressure and even less rain, enabling us to pick at optimum ripeness.
This Rosé is made in the traditional rosé style from Sangiovese, a variety which we feel is very well suited to the style.
Handpicked and hand sorted with care, the must then spent 24hrs on skins, before being drained off to stainless steel tank to undergo a slow and cool fermentation. A portion of the wine was fermented in barrel for added complexity.
This wine is an intense pale salmon colour. The nose is aromatic, with dry grassy and green herb notes, some bubble gum and raspberry. The palate runs a tight acid line, with an overlaying red berry fruit sweetness, finishing clean, dry, and bright.
